I would prefer ice, mostly because I have neither rollerblades nor pads that I can beat the shit out of on a roller surface.

hockydries gave me a tripping penalty once because I took a guy out when I charged to the blueline to prevent a breakaway...BUT I TOTALLY GOT THE PUCK FIRST .

Hehe. I work at the Greensboro airport fulltime doing weather observations, so I am in Raleigh like two nights a week therefore I had to fall off of the planet at the ice house hockey scene which totally sucks.

Ice would totally rock but it isn't as flexable nor exclusive unless we rented the ice time.

^^ I loved scorekeeping/reffing there and would do it again if I worked at RDU, but the 1099 thing at the end of the year blows unless you can plan for it or keep every recipt and write it all off.

i can play any position but prefer the left defense. i'm left handed shot, and actually in places besides the South there are usually a great deal of left handed shots. i mean think about how many greats have been left handed shots. Gretzky and Lemieux in the past 20 years.

i'm down once my rehab for my torn acl is complete, just had the surgery 3 weeks ago but they say i'm a couple weeks ahead of schedule in the recovery process. looks like 4 months for me so far

i play roller and am tryin to get gear for ice

if we do street hockey players only need skates/stick, and we can find tons of places to play (tennis court, parking deck, etc).

ice hockey might be better, but street hockey is still pretty damn fun and a hell of a lot easier to get going

Iceplex has pick up ice every thursday night, BC is 10:15 - 11:30, although it usually runs til 12. Personally, I'm heading out the the Factory Ice house this Sunday (9pm - 10:30) for their pickup.

Dreamsports in Apex has their pickup Saturday mornings 9-11.30 and another session 11.30 - 1. I'll be out for the later session as well. They also have a free outdoor surface at Marsh Creek, but I haven't been up there in a while so I don't know what their turnout is. They had the footboards as well as both nets.

The plex is a nice size for public skate, but is teh suczor to play hockey unless you are in really decent shape and wanting to skate your ass off. Cary Ice House is nice for small groups. I always enjoyed the fru-fru figure skating girls misjudge an axel and jump into the boards.
