I can set up a remote session with my home computer as client (when I'm at the office, and when I get home I can use it), but I can't connect to either computer using a client-to-server connection.

I just get "Failed to connect" errors.

a.) are you using hamachi?
b.) use ultravnc

seriously, though...i'm not very familiar with windows' remote networking, but the hamachi/ultravnc setup i use works fine (after some fine-tuning and tweaking)

A few things to check (if you're not using hamachi)... Make sure that neither of the external IP addresses have changed on the two computers. Google 'what's my ip' to check. Secondly, have you logged into your routers and forwarded the correct VNC ports (is it 5900?) to the correct computer. Lastly, if you did have the port forwarding setup, check to make sure that the internal IPs of the two computers hasn't changed. If they have, you may need to change the router port forwarding configuration to point to the new IP addresses.

Another plug for hamachi: If you were to spend about 5 minutes installing and configuring this program, you wouldn't ever have to worry about any of ^ that stuff above, on either of the two computers.

The only router is here at the office. All ports I think I need to forward (5800, 5900, 5500) are forwarded. All IPs are correct, but I'll double check.

I'm using Hamachi, whick I think is damn near the greatest thing since sliced bread.
