Ok the plastic guard that keeps debris from getting up into the belt area began to sag, and the other night it was torn off from a speed bump. I went ahead and took the plastic piece off, is this a necessity to replace or is this piece pretty much optional??

it helps keep crap off of the belts, like you said, and it also helps the air flow in and around the radiator. I'd get it back on there.

^ yeah the airflow is more important than the belt thing too.

no bottom plate will cause the wind to sound very loud by the front two windows...

doi have to have a windsheild. i mean its clear so.... No you do not NEED it but it protects the bottom side of your motor. and your drive belts and intake plumming hoses. ext.... from debris.
