So, I have this thing through American Express where you can buy a plane tickets and get a companion ticket for free through the end of the year. My mom gave me the 1-800 number to call to start asking about fares to NYC and this guy answers the phone. He was like oh, where were you flying out of and I was like uhh..Raleigh Durham? And then he starts talking to me about New York and Savannah (where he lives, apparently) and all this other stuff. THEN, he's like gosh you sure do sound so cute on the phone, and I know this is the wrong number but I believe in intution and that things happen for a reason, and blah blah being uber creepy. Then I was like uhhh I'm 18 and have a huge boyfriend who wrestles...bye!!! I was beyond creeped out he didn't immeaditely tell me I had the wrong number, I figured he was some employee just trying to make conversation, and then he was all well, when I go out on my boat today, I'll be thinking about that voice!

always ask for the name of the person you are talking to first so you can report them if needed 6/21/2006 11:40:28 AM |

When I worked as a part time phone tree monkey, we actually did stuff like that.
It was sort of an internal office joke.
We tried to be pretty creepy though. 6/21/2006 11:40:46 AM |

He didn't tell me it was the wrong number until a few minutes later, and that's when I said "bye" and whatnot 6/21/2006 11:40:53 AM |

He said that he has a thing where a 1-800 number transfers to his cell phone? I've never heard of that, I don't know. And I am not posting it so y'all can call and then he'll probably like...be on my doorstep in 3 hours 6/21/2006 11:45:54 AM |

1-800 numbers aren't always for companies. my uncle had one as does my father-in-law. I asked once why they had them... but I don't remember the reason, I just know it has nothing to do with being a companie number 6/21/2006 11:46:26 AM |

I find it interesting how male-centric you all are. Did my mom not give me any attention, either? 6/21/2006 11:55:07 AM |

a large number of girl's emotional problems/instability comes from their relationship with dad - espeically in their heterosexual/homosexual ones
this is not new - this is backed by years of research
you definitely didn't get enough attention from daddy 6/21/2006 11:59:48 AM |

Natalie, this place is a sausage fest. And that's how they want to keep it. I don't see how this is attention whoring either, but that's beside the point.
I was wondering, how did he answer the phone? Was it "Hello?" or like it was a business? 6/21/2006 12:10:57 PM |

Why didn't you just cut him off and tell him to get back to the free ticket deal? Then you could have saved a shitload of time because he would have told you it was the wrong number right off. 6/21/2006 1:59:13 PM |
