I came home to find out that a roomate's surge protector failed.

A router, APC surge protector later (fucking $texas), we find that her ethernet nic is dead as well, and her PS/2 keyboard port.

I have a PS/2 to Serial adapter that was lying around, however the computer doesnt recognize a keyboard when plugged in that way (we know the keyboard is good).

Should I assume that the Serial port or adapter is dead, or is there a driver etc i'm missing? (win 2k box)

Expect a lightning sale in classifieds sometime soon...
