traded the r6 for it straight up.

runs good, smokes a little. i expect to throw some money in an engine rebuild when it goes.

truck has 206,600, 5speed, new clutch, radiator, water pump, fuel pump, procompshocks and steering stabilizer, 1500 dollar paint last 8 months, newish flowmaster ex, new headliner, redone seats, no rust on truck, just changed oil..(previous guy used 10w40 penzoil and said it used almost a quart every 3k.. ill keep my eye on this..) with 15w40 penzoil diesel oil (zxappeal recommended it). also threw a bottle of "restore" in the oil.

havent driven it much about 100 miles since i got it. has good oil pressure.

this weekend replacing pcv and egr valves and the ngr valve as well.

tell me what you guys think.

also how much an engine rebuild or swap (for another 318) should cost).

is there a way to tell if the truck just needs the heads redone or if it's the piston rings as well?

also keeping an eye on radiator fluid. if that's going it would be a head gasket problem as well? so far it hasnt burned any of that (noticeable i marked te resevoir)

what year and how many miles? why do you think you need a rebuild? a quart in 3k aint bad on a 318/360 and they really don't have an incredible amount of power after a lot of miles, but it doesnt get much worse after a while, if anything i would reccomend a good intake and injector cleaning, they tend to gum up, and the #8 plug always fouls from oil from the pcv valve

so you bought a car that has a $1500 paint job & uses a quart of oil every 3,000 miles. & you're happy about it...

I give it two weeks before he figures it out that he traded his ride again for a POS and then sells it off.

I'm not wrecking the RR in the next two weeks...

and I finally got all the parts to fix the damn thing in yesterday (minus the engine spacers, still have to look for them)

So it's been about two weeks. Do you still have it?

it's damn rare for a 9 and 1/4 to fail, even at those miles. i've got some parts for one if you need any. ring and pinion, some bearings, etc. i never broke mine, under HEAVY abuse. damn things are basically as strong as a d60. shafts are actually bigger.

has it had the plenum gasket done? that could be the cause of the oil burning, common failure on the magnum v8's.

plenum isn't too bad, it requires pulling the intake manifold and everything that keeps it from coming off...

Is this an off-road only truck or a jacked-up, car flattening, pedestrian eating deathmobile?
