the most fun I had in eve was back during the SE vs Xetic war (I was SE, we stomp xetics ass). I would take my good ol' bomber raven with 8 large smartbombs and fully stabbed out and sit it in the HED-GP corridor somewhere (usually hed itself, sometimes I would go up to where IAC currently resides) and pop Xetic ships as they tried to make a run for it. I got so many Tech2 BPC's and faction gear it was retarded. I remember the very first ship I popped was an inty carrying a corp's entire BPC stock and about 10 Domination faction items, about 400 BPC's in all, and about 700mil isk worth of modules. Then I think they nerfed gate bombing after I left the game, dunno why, lolz. 7/16/2006 11:58:36 AM |

I took a two month hiatus from WoW to play this, and I have to admit it was fun. The most appealing thing was the depth, however it got boring after a while. I tried trading, and while I made a lot of money(to me) I got tired of constantly going between systems. Seems a lot like tradewars. 7/16/2006 2:02:18 PM |

go do a few missions, go buy a better frig than what you have, do alot more missions, buy a better ship, do missions.
or go mine.
or go kill rats in belts.
or trade.
or do more missions.
or join a player corp and follow their lead.

Seems with ECM being chance based now the way it is a frig gank squad is the most bang for the buck, IE everyone fit 1 multiracial jammer and you can pretty much take out any ship in the game with a few frigs. I mean dont get me wrong the chance based thing is ok, especially in a scorp and your able to jam 6 targets at the same time with one ECM each, but thats overpowered and unbalanced.8/7/2006 5:30:21 PM |

not really, it depends how you decide to stagger your weapons fire, what ammo you are using, range, speed of your ship relative to his/her's (velocity), what sort of weapons you are using, and ecm or eccm, drones, and what modules you have installed and how/when you use them

i get my battlecruiser tonight! still on level I missions..how long before I get level II 8/22/2006 11:34:20 AM |
Arab13 Art Vandelay 45180 Posts user info edit post |
level II's can be handled with good cruiser skills or a BC pretty easy, if i recall.... damn i need to get you 2 on teamspeak, do you both have mics? things go alot faster communication wise that way....
level II combat missions usually have a cruiser and some destroyers and frigates, so you will need either some small guns, missiles, or drones (to take out frigates), cruisers you should be able to take out with regular medium guns. The rest of the level II missions are pretty much the same but use more cargo space and such....
getting to level II missions requires having high enough standing with a level II agent. after a long enough time (loong time) with a level I they might refer you to a level II. the trick is doing these missions for good quality level agents in a region that will give you loyalty point or standing bonuses.
you can trade loyalty points for very nice things later on. (save them)
I think i sent you the EVE explorer link for finding agents and what system/station they are in....
if not googling it should bring it up.
I'll be on later tonight.
I'd probably like to invite both of you to join my corp at some point, (we are involved in a war atm so joining (with out an alt) would probably not be in your best interests at the moment.... shit, my alt isnt even in the corp yet due to that.... 8/22/2006 1:00:19 PM |
Taikimoto All American 2039 Posts user info edit post |
a BC for level II's is way overkill, you can do them in a destroyer with decent skills or with a cruiser with crap skillsk. For instance a caracal with just enough skills to fly it can do all lvl 2's easy. Also, it shouldnt take you very long to get to lvl 2's if your doing a good number of lvl 1's. The trick to lvl 1s is to find a station that has 2 high quality lvl 1 agents and run missions at the same time. Or just train up connections to IV and you will have lvl 2's and prolly lvl 3's.
I was running lvl 2's within a few days with a caracal with like 500k skillpoints. 5 assault launchers, 2 large shield extenders, a medium shield booster, afterburner, some dmg mods and I could do all lvl 2's in my sleep.
Level 1: Frigate/Destroyer Level 2: Destroyer/Cruiser Level 3: Battlecruiser/Battleship Level 4: Battleship
For mission references:
http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=347028
Oh yeah one last thing, you may be able to get lvl 2's if you have been doing I's for this long. Just open up your People and Places window, type in the NPC corp your doing missions for (Such as Caldari Navy), right click on them for Show Info, and go to the agents tab. Search through it and you will prolly find some lvl 2's you can use.

Inside one of the 10/10 complexes in 0.0 space.
A BC is cool and all to mess around with, but when you move to lvl 2's you will want a cruiser. a BC just doenst have much of a tank, and you will get bored with lvl 1's with it quickly.

whats a 10/10 complex 8/22/2006 5:39:45 PM |
Taikimoto All American 2039 Posts user info edit post |
complex's are sorta like instanced dungeons in wow, cept anyone can go in at any time with the appropriate ship. To find them open your map and click the option that says "DED Deadspace Report". Hover over the dots to find a suitable complex. Right now you could go do a Training 1/10 or maybe a 2/10. However, low lvl complexes are a waste of time, mid range ones are camped 23/7, and high lvl are owned by alliances. They are farmable however, as the ships just keep respawning, and there is a very very very very low chance at faction gear in 3/10 and above. 8/22/2006 5:43:32 PM |

True Sansha l00t!! yeah there is a level 7 complex in our space, but like Tai said it's pretty much camped out and run constantly.... though we don't 'own' it and theoretically anyone can come in and do it. but it isnt worth it without a few BS's and the overseer spawning back (24 hour timer usually) you can sell the overseers affects for crazy money....
