there were a couple threads that dealt with this somewhat a few months back but i need this shit dumbed down a bit to understand wtf im supposed to do here

i am not able to really d/l much of anything at speeds greater than about 10kb/sec

at the top right are those three little bars...two are lit up yellow and the third is blank

it says downloads may be slow: probably firewalled/NATted

ive tried turning off my firewall and it had no effect

im not on wireless, and im connected through my house with bellsouth

what to do plz

If you can't figure it out via google then you don't deserve to steal.

there are legitimate reasons to use bt.

Did you try changing the port?

Figure out what port BT is using and open it up on your router.

Depends on the router. Most of em have a blank where you have to take the cover off of it and expose it so that you can use it. Not easy to do though.

how did you turn off your firewall? if you don't know how to open ports im curious how you did that.

what client do you use...what do you dl torrent files with? I would recommend bitlord, works perfectly and is fast.

Start -> run -> type 'cmd' (w/out quotes). When DOS-like screen comes up, type 'ipconfig /all' (w/out quotes).

Look for the line that says "default gateway." Write down that IP address (probably 192.168.xxx.xxx). That's the one you put into IE (ex: http://192.168.xxx.xxx - where xxx.xxx is the rest of your IP address).
