like i said, I don't know shit about it. The guy said that they sell a big ass clay bar that you wet and run across car- let dry and clean off. Said it cleans the car and gets all the dirt, metal, etc out of the paint and that i should do it once a year 7/5/2006 12:41:04 PM |

Google and learn how you need to use clay bar for paint care. It's worth it if you know how to use it (not hard). 7/5/2006 12:52:17 PM |

it's not a pre-wash.
you have to wash the car, then use the claybar with a lubercant (soapy water) to get all the embedded dirt out of the paint. then a quick rinse/wash to get off any clay and soap residue, then wax.
every run your hand over a freshly washed car and it feels gritty or a little rough? the claybar gets all that crap out of your paint. after a clay and wax, the car is smooth as glass. 7/5/2006 3:11:05 PM |

ok well i washed the car real good, used the clay bar with mothers polish to lubricate (thats what it came with in the kit), never rinsed (didn't know i shoukd), and then waxed with that new Turtle Liquid Ice wax.... it was like $20 for the bottle and an actual liquid. I am not overly happy with the total result. The car is smooth as glass- feals great only i def. missed a few spots because that little ass bar and 2ft blocks sucks. I don't know how i like that new liquid wax though... I don't feal like it is shining as well as it should..... 7/5/2006 3:54:46 PM |

I clay barred my mustang last year. It pretty much took me all day, because I clay barred it, then did the 3 stage meguiars treatment (paint cleaner, polish, sealer wax). The finished product was amazing though. It looked/felt like it was right out of the showroom 7/5/2006 6:47:11 PM |
