I have a 93 Civic and the alternator has quit on me. When I lived in FL i know there were small shops that would rebuild alternators. Anyone know of a place around raleigh that rebuilds them?

Why not just goto Advance Auto Parts and get a rebuilt alternator with lifetime replacement warranty?

there is a place in garner that does it. the name escapes me, auto marine electric or something like that. I had a starter done a while back, a rebuild from the parts house was $230 + core, he did it for $100 with a day turnaround. It looks like a hole in the wall, its right beside a lawnmower repair shop.

I have not had good luck with advance rebuilds.

The reman alternators from Advance are usually sourced from the rebuilder with the lowest bids, so that says something right there.

It's Johnny's Auto and Marine Electric. And I've had a lot of my customers highly recommend them.

BTW, that's a fun alternator to replace. May require removal of the CV shaft.

I've gotten my alternator rebuilt for two different cars at Triangle Alternator & Starter. It's about 2 minutes off Glenwood by the 540 interchange.
