I'd heard it was terrible.

My girlfriend's little brother and his friend were watching this at her house the other night. Didn't really see much of it but he said it was good. Read the back cover and found the storyline a little lame though.

Thats all you have to say? For fuck's sake elaborate.

I thought it was a good movie, but it has its flaws. You're going to enjoy it if you can get past the fact that Elijah Wood does not make a believable soccer hooligan. How he ends up in England in the first place is complete bullshit. Other than that its worth watching.

Since I had just finished watching the movie, I had yet to really form an opinion on it other than the fact that I thought it was pretty good. But now that I've had a day to dwell...

I think it was somewhat believable. They had him looking pretty rough and got him in some good "hooligan wardrobe". I went in thinking there was no way he could become a hooligan and came away impressed with how close he was. And its not like they made him a complete badass. He got hit just as much as he hit other people. They made sure not to make him this ultimate fighter because they knew that wasn't realistic. But it's easy for me to believe that a kid with a dead mother, an absentee father, and who just got kicked out of Harvard because he wouldn't rat out his dickhead roommate has A LOT of rage in him that might help him out a little in a fight.

What are you talking about?? I thought that was put together pretty good. He gets kicked out of his school, his mom is dead, he has no relationship with his father...so he goes to stay with his sister. What is bullshit about that?? What else was he going to do?
