Hello gentlemen,

I'm not sure how old this news is to you guys but I found a site with info on playing nes/snes roms on your DS or GBA, and thought it looked like an awesome thing to do. Have any of you guys been able to successfully do it yet? I've also heard of something called GBA Movie Player and heard it was pretty good for that stuff. Post on here if anny of you guys have done this type of thing because I really want to.

There is a general thread in I think Entertainment or maybe even here in Tech Talk that has some info on stuff like this. I think to get this to work you have to actually open up your NDS and do some stuff with it to get it to work. Although I do remember a GBA type cartridge that you could put into the GBA slot of the NDS that has an additional slot to put flash cards in. I'm not quite sure, but there is a risk of completely messing up your NDS, so I wouldn't want to try it.

the thread is in tech talk and im with wraith. unless you plan on stealing ds games the 70-100 bux it costs isnt worth it really.

Wraith is correct in saying that there are flash carts you can buy (for $50-$75) that allows you to copy homebrew files or games to it and play them on the DS. He is incorrect in saying that there is risk involved however, because with the new passme3 or Max Media Launcher ($20-$25) there is no longer any need to flash the firmware of the DS, or open it up for any reason. They are completely safe, Incredibly easy to use, and best of all don't void your warranty at all.

sounds great to me... tjb627 got a ds the other day and i played on it... love it, playin some classics would be great on it IMO

yeah, it's funny. I went on a trip this past week with a few friends. I loaded up my PSP with 5-6 current titles...$50 games. Tomb Raider, Monkey Ball, Tiger Woods 06, etc. The newest games out there. To fill out the memory stick I also threw on a NES emulator and 1800 old school NES games. I don't think anyone even loaded up any of the new games one time the whole week, but instead just played Mike Tyson's punchout, and Tecmo Bowl the entire time.

So El Nacho -- Do you need both the flash cartridge as well as the Max Media Launcher in order to play emulated games?
