I got one very similar to this one about a year ago from Circuit City, except mine is a 17" widescreen.



It doubles as a computer monitor too. Since I don't have a standalone DVD player in my room I can just play DVD's on my computer and watch them on the TV. The list price on the Best Buy website is $750 for this 19", but mine was a little less due to the 2" difference. Also, mine was open box and Circuit City had some kind of special promotion/coupon thing going on so I got mine for I think a little more then $500. If you can find one of them open box, you can get a really good deal.

^ pretty nice tv, have one, happy with it. does a really good picture and works great with the time warner HD-DVR box. i've got 2 pc's and the cable box hooked up to mine and it all looks decent. I've had mine for about a year now.

I think it's weird that more places don't carry and push Olevia TV's. Syntax, olevia's owner, is one of the few REAL manufacturers of LCD's and they're used as OEM's for many other brands.

ok hang on, that is way out of my price range

i already have a 51 HDTV Sony Rear projection that I bought 2 years ago (which is wonderful by the way)

I am looking for something to go in my room. it does not have to be HD, I am just looking for a quality tv that is around a 32"

heh, maybe you can talk smoothcrim down on that 32" olevia...

but yeah, you could always try one of these ones:

JVC model AV32F577

It's 32" and has a built in QAM and ATSC tuner. It's a flat CRT, if that's what you meant by flat screen. Really though, if you want something that big and in that price range, you're not going to find anything really flat that's also any good.

There's also the SONY KD-32FS170, another good 32" flat crt.

^ looks a lot like that JVC I just mentioned. it's nice that it'll at least receive the HD signals, even if it has to dowconvert all of them. means you can get free digital tv.

^^^ I bought the Sony model similar to that a few years ago. I narrowed my choices between the toshiba and the sony and I think I picked the sony because it did an enhanced 16:9, but I think the toshiba did a better PiP. Of course the price range was $800-$900 then and now both are around $500

The biggest you can get in that size range is like a 32" SDTV tube, like a sharp. You may be able to get a 36" SDTV tube but they don't sell 'em at Best Buy so I wouldn't know about that. Stay away from RCA, and you pretty much can't go wrong in this type of TV. Make sure to get one with a flat screen (opposed to the curved/bubble screen TVs).\

If you want to get something better than SD, the Samsung linked is your best bet. It's not widescreen (which means widescreen HD content isn't going to use the full resolution unless you're stretching the picture), and it's smaller but it's a good TV and everything will look great on it.
