Is the battery dead? If not, just transfer the files off the computer and order a new cord from Dell.

"If you pull the rubber coating off the wires on each side of the chewed part you should be able to splice them back together. Just match up the colors, twist them together, and put electrical tape around them. Not a permanent solution (or I guess it could be) but it will get you by until you get a new cord.

I think there are only 2 or 3 wires so should be easy...just match colors"

My response to your same thread in classifieds.

^yeh good idea but hes too damn cute.

^^yeh i saw your post in classifieds as well and I checked the cord cause ive had to fix other cords that the little bugger chews threw and the cord is made up of a bunch of tiny little wires inside of the black plastic coating so no chance of splicing.

I called Dell and they said that I could get a new one in 1-2 days cause my computer is still under warranty... what are the chances so I lucked out. Thanks for the responses.

Just curious, how much do you want for one? I'm looking to pick up an extra one for work.
