yea for an underwater camera, that's a very cheap price. I have the Olympus 710, and you can buy an underwater enclosure for an extra 150 or something. That's cool to already have it underwater capable.

its not really an underwater camera. its more like water resistant. 10' is nothing, any shell you buy for a camera is generally made for 120' or so of depth.

I bought this camera earlier this week and have been very pleased with the decision.

Ok, so yea, if you compare it to an SLR or something of course the images aren't as nice. Actually, that was my main hang up - do I go with an D70s or D200 (Nikon), or do I want something I can abuse and still get pretty damn good shots with. AND spend like 5x's less.

After talking to a lot of photogs and doing some thinking - I just realized that I have no fucking need for a huge SLR deal. Go spend $450-$500 bucks and get a great compact digital that will last you for years.

^^ Really, because I thought for anything much over around 150 ft you'd need a heliox system or something. So for normal dives, 100-120 feet is pretty respetable isn't it? I mean at more than 40 meters you've only got a few minutes before surfacing will mean making decompression stops.

But anyways, 10 ft is just fine for snorkling or shallow-depth rebreather diving. Basic rebreather systems are best at shallow depths under 16 feet anyways.
