Why does everyone always call that area the ghetto? Am I missing something? Is that area a housing project or something? If so, they're pretty nice for the projects.

i'd be willing to bet that there is a gunshot/rape/robbery/etc every other day off Greenleaf and surrounding roads

I live there. It's NOT a bad/unsafe/dangerous place. You're right across the street from the bus stop, pricing is fair (it includes water, cable, and high speed wireless internet). Plus if you're drunk you can walk to Taco Bell or Wendy's haha. Also the rooms are big and each have a nice sized bathroom. I have had no problems whatsoever, and everyone I know that lives in Rhyne's Gate loves it as well.

i live at Rhyne's Gate and even though we live in a sketchy area, nothing ever happens besides a car wreck or two, which are pretty fun to watch if no one gets hurt. i know that one car from our parking lot has been broken in to since i've lived here, but the only thing they took was the person's ipod and left their money. just tell your friends not to park on the street behind us (in front of U Glen, i think it is) because it's tight back there and people hit those cars quite a bit. but that could happen anywhere on Gorman. i love it here and wouldn't live anywhere else.

^ U Oaks, not U Glen. The neighborhood isn't that bad, but I call it the ghetto too.

It borders the Kentwood projects.

I've lived at U. Oaks for 4 years. I've seen: Police raids, Swat teams busting in drug dealers homes, people hopping out of cars and beating down a guy walking down the street, gta, constant drug dealing (I know this bc they offer when you walk by sometimes), and domestic disputes in the road.

Plus it's a loud area. I would never reccommend living a U. Oaks and Rhynes Gate isn't all that much better.

I've never felt threatened...hell when my ex gf used to always come over (4' 10" little blonde thing) she'd get here at night sometimes and would just walk up by herself. I've never felt threatened or feared for my safety here...it really isn't a bad place.
