i'm having some trouble understanding the transition from the 1st block diagram to the 2nd. the way i have it worked out, i have a +G2 term in the numerator in the top box of the 2nd diagram but there is no G2 term shown. can anyone help?

c = (G2/(1-G2H2))r + 1r c/r = G2/(1-G2H2) + (1-G2H2)/(1-G2H2) c/r = ((G2 + 1 - G2H2)/(1-G2H2))*G1 c/r = (G1G2 + G1 - G1G2H2)/(1-G2H2) now put the G1G2 terms together c/r = (G1 - G1G2(H2 +1))/(1-G2H2) 7/15/2006 5:26:46 PM |

where did that "1r" term come from in ur 1st step? 7/15/2006 6:21:46 PM |

you assume the positive feedback loop has a value of "1" so imagine a box with a "1" in it just like the boxes with variables in them on the top loop.
i also just realized that should be a H2 - 1 term in the last equation, i accidently typed the wrong sign.

ok cool, thanks; i got it now. i had no idea about the assuming of 1 thing so that definitely helps a lot..it made this problem much easier to reduce. 7/15/2006 7:12:23 PM |

Does anyone know if Dr. Ro's tests are open book and open notes. I know that I had him for 315 and they were but I didn't remember him mentioning it for this summer session. Please let me know if any of you guys know.

Does anyone know what all topics will be covered on this first test that is tomorrow, or what type of problems you think he will give us?
Thanks 7/16/2006 1:30:59 PM |

basically:
laplace transforms block diagrams complex impedances
pretty much what is on the sample test is what will be on the test tomorrow; although the test does not have an impedance problem and he said to be sure to know that. 7/16/2006 1:36:37 PM |

I am just not sure what type of impedance problems to study? Does anyone have any suggestions of what to look at? 7/16/2006 2:44:24 PM |

i did the bulk of my studyin yesterday. today has kinda just been a blah day. i looked at it for like 1.5 hours earlier and got sick of it. 7/16/2006 8:46:00 PM |

i think the impedance is just so that when you have an electrial system everything can be reduced to v = i * z effective with some deriviative or integral of i so that you can take the laplace transform and find the transfer function 7/16/2006 9:38:33 PM |

yea that's all impedance is really. 7/16/2006 9:55:27 PM |

i dont think that the test was too bad, he could have made it much worse
i finished in about an hour and just used the rest of the time to look over it
im kind of worried though, because very few people finished early
i always think that i missed something and didnt do it 7/17/2006 11:58:59 AM |

i didnt think the test was too bad up until #3 with the 3 equations. i had a hard time figurin out how to do it. i still got an answer and everythin but it's most likely wrong. here's to hoping for lots of partial haha. 7/17/2006 3:02:33 PM |

I know when I had Dr. Ro, he didn't give too much partial credit. I made a mistake at the beginning of one problem and he followed it all the way through Dr. Ro will help you at the end of the class....however, it is imperative that you go to class...your final grade will reflect that

I wasn't able to go to class today. Did I miss anything important? Did he go over state-space representation? 7/18/2006 3:57:36 PM |
