how many students does it take to sign up for a course before they decide not to cancel a section of a course. I am the only one signed up for a class right now (Elementary Bangladesh) and I fear that it'll not end up being taught. Is it the professor's call or the university? 7/17/2006 2:15:31 PM |

A class can be full and they can still cancel it. There is no magical limit. Sometimes they'll drop a class because they can't get an instructor or they're diverting the funding else where or they feel like screwing people who just want to graduate. 7/17/2006 5:22:05 PM |

i highly doubt its the latter, darkone.
but, as it was stated, there is no magical number. 7/17/2006 6:12:23 PM |

My class this summer was on the verge of cancellation and according to the professor it requires a minimum number of students that they dictate each semester, and he said it was usually ranging from 10-12. 7/17/2006 7:52:25 PM |

thanks han
there is a triangle-wide push in the 4 universites (ncsu, unc, duke, uncc) to teach new southern asian languages: persian, bengali, pashto, and tamil. only bengali and persian are being offered at ncsu. persian has filled up with about 10 students, bengali is lagging. 7/26/2006 8:16:15 PM |
