I ran across a '98 Camry with a broken timing belt that was originally being sold for 4800 dolla.

Guy came down to 4 grand. But I'll be damned if I'll buy something I can't at least start and drive, even at that price. Those engines are known to burn lots of oil if neglected in the earlier years, and you can't run a compression test on a car with a broken timing belt.

yup. on the drive to uwharrie i saw two older trucks (dodge & chevy) and they wanted 5 grand for em. looked like hunks of junk. i wouldn't pay that ever, let alone for a 2wd, 1500's

fiberglass patch job.. google it, its really not that hard. You can buy fiberglass in rolls (long roll probably about 10 ft, but you'll want extra if you ever own a boat), then you get epoxy and probably resin all that good stuff, some new bottom paint and voila. I dont know if it would be too much $ to fix though, unless you were gonna resell it and just make $ back.
