So, the shop helper (bitch) seems to have quit so today I was chucking some old 5 gallon buckets into the dumpster, and lo and behold there is a fucking chainsaw scooter sitting there on top. We brought it inside and within 10 minutes we had it running. After 30 we had stripped it down and rigged a throttle control and were tearing ass around the parking lot. Most fun dumpster toy EVER.

You still wanna sell your scooter? I was gathering parts to build one, i need something that will get around the pits at the truck and tractor pulls i work at. Doesnt need speed but able to go through grass gravel etc. Shipping shouldnt be to bad if you can get the steering off. Let me know I could do this.

hell no i dont want to sell it

we built a custom straight exhaust (no baffle bullshit) for it friday, and finally made a seat for it. after experimenting a couple times i can pull the front wheel up, but its real sketchy. almost ate concrete showing off. it is so fuckin loud now, and it looks pretty bad with the flat black paint and white flames haha.

total cost thus far... $1

i need to figure out how to make a new throttle cable though, we are having to use some wire tied to whats left of the old one... i need a parts scooter so i can get some good hand controls off of it.

also, the brakes fade really badly, is that normal for this kinda shitty scooter? we do puddles a lot in the thing too i know that dont help.

take a set of disc brakes for a bicycle and make them work, you'll have so much more stopping power lol

you know a straight pipe ain't much on a 2-stroke, right? you need an expansion pipe, k.

ok

day 1- after pulling it from the dumpster we removed the battery, lights, ignition switch and all wiring we didnt need. that installed a new kill switch and hooked up a makeshift throttle cable.

as of friday afternoon, with the "stage 1" custom exhaust and the creeper seat mod.

I had been doing some reading online about 2 strokes and expansion pipes and shit, and stopped by the scrap metal place and picked up my new pipe for $1.50. opened up the exhaust port on the engine a little, and made a new flange adapter from a washer and some more pipe. My welding actually turned out pretty well this time. I still need to work on the bushing between it and the new pipe but it will work for now.

So I got it fired up, warmed up and HOLY SHIT it runs a lot harder and stronger than before. The brakes gave out so I cant really wind it out, and I need to make a real throttle, but what an improvement in power. Sounds good too, like a street bike or something.

nah man the video does NOT do it justice. the fender is off now because when i first fired it up and pulled it to full throttle it sounded so good i just held it there for a few seconds and it totally shook the mounting bolts loose.

I would be interested in an old pocket bike for parts when you get tired of it.

Can anyone ID this engine? How many companies make these little things anyhow? It looks kinds like some of the stihl weed eaters at ace hardware, but not quite.

And what does the thing by the back axle do? Where the screw is and shit. In between the frame and the rear tire. Left of the new pipe in this pic.

Some stuff that looks close:

This one looks rather close too but I can't find a pic of the other side of it.

Another sister product.

The body panels match pretty well, as do the overall features. The engines also share a lot of visual characteristics.

Yours just looks like a stripped down model of those (missing lights, etc).

rear drum brake? i didnt know it had a rear brake at all.

im not altogether sure that my rear wheel is parallel with the frame, but i think i got the chain adjustment where it needs to be.

I need to fab a throttle control of some sort and an air cleaner.

Nah, I don't think yours has a rear brake.

However, it looks like it's got an engine just like those models, and it shares the same body. Those are just higher-end models.

The websites I'm looking at (asian export websites) aren't showing me anything closer.

Those last few I linked to that had the headlamps and cargo compartments and maybe rear brakes? They've got two handles whereas yours has one (brake handles I mean).

It's really hard to tell from that site because it won't just let me browse all the scooters by that manufacturer, and the manufacturer only has representation on decent websites through those asian-export websites I'm linking to (so i can't go to their US website or something and get a list of every model they make or have made).

Searching on http://www.google.cn only yielded me a webpage with lots of crazy characters that I can't understand on it.

http://www.partsforscooters.com/Brake-Shoes_3?sc=2&category=11

looks like your brake lever assembly is missing and so is the cable. look at the third pic you posted, the purple scooter got two levers, front and rear.

what's wrong with your throttle?

haha this is the first two wheel motorized device i have ever owned.

yeah it def. used to have two levers. guess that means it had a twist throttle, except everything from the actual throttle out is shot. the cable came apart and the handle slid out so I welded it on. no more twisting. i want to make a throttle handle where the rear brake handle used to be i suppose i should say...

Haha, so you had one of those scooters and the previous owner tore it to shit.

That explains why everything is missing... I retract my "your shit is cheap" comment and would like to replace it with "your shit got broke."

you could make a lever-style throttle pretty easy, kinda like those on jet skis, if you can't get a hold of the oem grip-type throttle assy. or possibly even a thumb throttle

just find a brake lever from a bike or something, then hit northern for some cable stuff. they carry everything you need to make a correct custom length one for pretty cheap.

ok my partner in crime finally brought his little brothers electric scooter to work and we stole the brake lever/cable off of it and now I got a proper throttle. Got the front brake adjusted up too, and the exhaust nice and done. Now air cleaner.
