if she hasn't had a ticket within a year or two, she can ask the assistant d.a. to reduce it to 9 over. this way her insurance won't go up, but she will still have to pay the ticket plus. if she has a ticket within in 2 years, she needs to get a lawyer to try to get it reduced for her.

I think it's VERY rare to get a speeding ticket reduced to anything better than a 9 over in wake county. Only being 15 over she doesn't need a lawyer, just ask the DA.

you couldnt be more fucking wrong. i thought the same thing untill the insurance company sent me a list of the one infraction they had against me, the one ticket i thought would be gone once it got reduced to 9 over, and they put a point on my license.


you get one free improper equipment plea in NC every 12 months, just pay the damn lawyer and get it reduced to the non moving violation and only then will it not count against you...

i got a ticket last night from rpd for not having any mirrors on my jeep, the fine is 25 bucks and court costs are 110. my question is; if i show up to court do i still have to pay the 110. if i do then ill just go ahead and pay the 135 and get it out of the way

^ Yes, you'll still have to pay the $110.
But, if you put some mirrors on, bring proof to court (receipt or before/after pic), and talk to the assistant D.A. there is a good chance you can probably get the ticket reduced or maybe even dropped.

your court/insurance co fucked you. i have had it reduced twice to 9 over. once when i was 19 and once when i was 23. both of the tickets were 75 in a 55 and 73 in a 55. they were both reduced to 64 in 55. my insurance never went up. i have no points on my license/insurance. plus improper equipment carries 2 points.

no- actually, I'll make the story a little worse on my end.... I had a few drinks in me the night after I bought the new vr6..... driving home with a buddy of mine and some Civic asshole decides to rev it at the light @ avent ferry. Since I have a couple in me I decide to get on it real hard.

Cop was hiding chilling @ apt. complex on left hand side a little ways up- the kid I was fucking with already way back. So cop tags me at 81 and by the time I see the lights I was well above 95. I do the responsible thing and pull over- he breathalizes me- tells me I'm an asshole but he's gonna cut me a break. Lets my buddy drive home and leaves me a ticket.
