Recommend me a good one, as I know dick-all about phone shit anymore.

I was looking at a Motorola HS820, they've got pretty good review on Amazon and are only like $30. Any reason it's so cheap? Is it a piece of shit?

Any others i should consider?

I had the smaller one from Motorola (one without the microphone that extends to your mouth), and it was awesome...it worked well with my laptop as well as cellphone and had awesome battery life.

I think that's the same one I'm looking at.

You said you had it? What happened to it? You upgraded or what?

So maybe it's just older. Maybe that's why it's cheap(er).

i was just looking for one too.

from what i just read up on, the Motorola H700 (amazon http://tinyurl.com/ecqu3) is kind of a step up from the HS820
you can get them elsewhere for about $44 - http://tinyurl.com/n3vbh

anyone have direct experience with the HS820 vs H700?

comes with a cable snake that has a usb end that plugs directly into the computer, and it comes with 2 usb adapters, one for wall outlet, and one for the car.

wow.... looks great. I saw the USB cable but didn't know it came with it, plus the adaptors. I really like having somethig rigid, like a dock, or at least semi-rigid like a snake cable to plug things into, instead of fumbling with loose wires and akward connectors

I've read good stuff about the Plantronics Voyager 510. I ordered one but it's not here yet. It's the only set I've seen that seems to consistently have good reviews.

The fuck is all that nonsense on the ear clip? Shit looks like it'd be uncomfortable as hell.

I was looking at the Motorola H700 also. The BlueAnt one though, I guess battery life wouldn't even be an issue with the car charger (that's where i'll be using it most). Somebody told me that they were a bitch to use if you had your windows rolled down. Any suggestions?

the thing behind the ear is NOT as big of a deal as you'd think...it's actually pretty comfortable

i'm actually selling a brand new (sealed in box) plantronics M2500 for $25 if you're interested

as for using them with the windows down, hearing isn't really an issue, but almost every one i know of passes along the wind noise to the person on the other end...also, if your car is particularly high in cabin noise (at high speeds, mostly), it can be distracting to the person on the other end

i got the blueant purely because of size and the nice adapters included. with the car adapter and wall adapter they are basically plugs for USB charging, meaning free adapters to charge my palm and mp3 players via USB with the adapters included.

another thing, if there's one thing i can't stand it's gaudy earpieces, the blueant is by far the smallest and lightweight one out there, i bearly feel it when i have it on, ton's of options, it allows you to turn the LED's off, allows up to 3 profiles, i can use the blueant w/ skype on pc, with my razr and with my wife's razr, and switch between devices with one click... it's freakin' awesome, if you choose to spend $50 on a BT headset.
