Subject says everything...

98 Acura CL 3.0 -- Fully loaded, very new tires (80k mile high performance) and was in great shape before this illegal hit me from behind.

They are only giving me 7k for it, which is BS because I couldnt buy one for 8k...

113k Miles, and everything was in great working condition. It is even still drivable, as I drove it around for a week before the insurance stuff was worked out with his company.

Salvage price is $1000 bucks for me to buy it back from them, so I just want to see if there is a good place to take it that will give me something close to what the parts are worth. The rims and tires are in great shape, and I did the tires at JustTires, and got the warranty with them.

Thanks for any assistance!!

hmm.. I dont know the offset... the wheels are the standard for the premium edition 98 cl 3.0

Not sure where the specs can be found.

I think these are the tires, unless they change models of tires each year... but same V-tred name.

no, but it was a rear end, strait on hit.

I was stopped and the dodge ram behind me didnt see everyone stop I imagine....

when the original estimate was done, they decided to replace the right quarter panel, trunk and bumper and then when he took off the bumper he realized he had to replace the impact bar. It actually does not look bad AT ALL!! original estimate was for like $2600, so i guess there was frame damage that they didnt want to mess with. Seat are all in great condition, and if I wasnt worried about the frame, I would even drive it as is.

Im sure that someone out there who does body work and then sales cars like this... I think this would be perfect.

Anyhow, Im just looking for someone to sale this to, and I need it gone this week sometime.

If he was actually illegal, and driving a company vehicle when he hit you, you'd think his employer would pay to replace your car. That's probably a lot cheaper than dealing with immigration...

maybe you can haggle under 7k - good luck - but to get what a dealer is selling the car for is pretty rare

yeah, i mean, the problem I run into is I buy from dealers for good reasons... they have a reputation and normally stand behind their sales. Private parties, or those dealers that sell all their cars for private party value, dont have history for the cars normally, or dont have a reputation that they have to protect as a business....

So by no means am I coming out ahead in this deal, as is inferred above, especially since I dont have time right now to go out and find a good deal.

Work, School, Married life, Other priorities... dont leave a whole lot of extra time

If you weigh in your time and the inconvenience of trying to sell the damn car, you're gonna lose.

And you're banking on being able to sell the damn thing for something approaching "reasonable" in your book. And that's a HUGE crapshoot. It's gonna take time and effort, and you've already hinted that you don't have the time or effort to fuck with this.

Take your 7k, forget about the car and what you think you've lost, and keep on truckin'...

To do otherwise is expending a lot of unnecessary energy.

underbluebook@yahoo.com

They have alot of cars that are always under kbb value.... Makes you wonder where they get them from...

Like I said, reputation means something when you are buying a car man.

But thanks for the info... Ill def take a look at it.

Yeah, looks bad now that they took off the bumper and repaired the trunk, or at least started to.

The day after the wreck, you could hardly tell that something had happened unless you were looking for it. I guess thats how it works though... its pretty easy to total a car these days.

i mean, if you like it so much, then just buy it back and fix it up and drive again. I'm sure you'll make some money out of this, since it'll probably cost less than 7 grands to fix it.

^^thats the last thing i would do. the car would never feel right after knowing it was in a wreck and the resale value is in the shitter. best option is to say fuck the car and start a new like zxappeal said.

Ok, here's what I'll do for you. I'll give you my car for the $7K. I know, I know. What are friends for. So, when can you have the money?
