The Onkyo HTS in a box setup is a good deal:

I've got an older model, and it's awesome, especially for the price. I considered several others and TWW recommended the Onkyo. Thanks TWW

if this is best bang for the buck, forget the x-fi and get either a chaintech 7.1 envy24 or a soundblaster live 5.1 and softmod it to an audigy 2 (they all use the same sound processor)

oh, he got it before it expired because i'm the one who used my paypal account to get it for him ...i figure add in a nice graphics card for about $140, possibly trade up for a 19" LCD (~$40 after selling 17"), and the price is even better
