Dude, you can buy a LOT of fishing gear for what it would cost to do good HID.

My advice is skip it. But if you like 'em that much then throw down the jack...

yea, I heard it costs $texas. I guess I'll look into other options. For some reason, I can't see that well with the stock lights. Maybe I need to get glasses.

or maybe you need to replace the bulbs or have them checked to see if they are aimed properly

most people that spend the money to do the conversion are doing it for looks instead of function

if you need to see better just get better bulbs and check the aim

^^ you gotta be kidding me.

you can get a kit cheap now, and the install is EASY. I have it in both of my cars, along with upgraded housings.

Don't buy one of those "kits" you see for sale, they will have a horrible beam pattern in the stock projectors (if you have projectors at all), what you need to do is retrofit in HID's from some other car (such as a lexus or a s2000). Check out HIDplanet.com for great info and too see what other people have done.

my brother has done a HID retrofit in his car and it works great with a "stock" looking beam pattern with a good cutoff and some pretty colors. He might consider doing yours for you for a little $, send me a PM if you are interested...I'm sure he can at least give you some good suggestions or steps to do it yourself.

start off by getting projectors and ballasts from ebay or a junkyard

not true....well not in my case. the stock headlights on my car are SHIT! the plastic covers were all yellowed out and I couldn't see anything at night especially in the rain. the HID conversion was well worth the money. i consider it a safety measure.

pft if safety were your only concern you could have done it a lot cheaper - you did it for looks and safety

You can either do it the right way or the wrong way.

The right way is expensive.

The right way is to retrofit

The wrong way is to get a "kit" online...it will end up having a horrible beam pattern and will blind oncoming traffic

HID's aren't really rice. They are a lot better then Halogen.

The implementation you use determines how affroengineered it is.
