okay. last night cat (female/3yrs old) sh!tted in the stairwell. of course she know I was pissed because she ran and hid and hissed and screamed at me. i pick her up put her nose in the sh!t and put her on the balcony. i noticed that while i was disciplining her and (i threw water on her while she was on the balcony) she was sh!tting. i think i have a bigger problem. she was literally sh!tting while i was tossing water on her on the balcony.

i'm wondering if i should seek professional help or just give her to the humane society. this sh!tting randomly is a pain in the ass, G.

You have a four second window of time to discipline any animal when they do something wrong. If you can't catch them doing it, then you're just tormenting them for no reason and being an asshole. As it stands, you're pissing off the cat and making it want to shit everywhere just because it hates you now. Keep a spray bottle around, and if you can catch the cat making a mess, spray it with the water so it knows what it was doing was wrong. But if you can't catch them in the act, they don't understand discipline after the fact.

you were close to the solution with the cat on the balcony. what you need is to take the next step.

free cat!

i think you were SCARING THE SHIT OUT OF HER :/ my kitty has only crapped in the floor once, and he hasn't done it again. when it happened, i held him steady, pointing at the poo and saying "NO!", then still holding him i put the poo in his litter box and put him in the litter box. hasn't happened since.

i definently agree. sounds to me like you were freaking her out so bad that she lost control of her bowels and pooped on the balcony. you went way overboard on the discipline

animals don't understand cause and effect, B. Just because you're rubbing the cat's face in it doesn't mean the cay understands it caused that mess. They're like very little children, G.

the cat wasnt done pooping on your carpet, so it had to finish up on the balcony

have you ever tried to cut off a turd mid-dump? Its tough to do, you're lucky the cat didnt shit on you when you threw it on the balcony.

to be honest, it sounds like you're a bad cat owner, not to mention you killed one already. People like you dont deserve to own pets. Jesus, B. Are you gonna beat your kids and throw water at them when they poop their pants? Just put them up for adoption, its easier that way. God help us all if you do have children.

my mom had a cat once that lost control of its bowels. At first, we'd catch it pooping on the floor and scold it, but then we quickly realized that he couldn't control it. His problem turned out to be that he was going senile, literally (he was almost 20 years old). I doubt that's your problem since your cat is only 3, but it'd be wise to call your vet and maybe mention it.

do your cat a favor and find it a new (and better ) home.
hell - the humane society would treat her alot better than that.

at the very least calmly put the cat in its litter box, repeat until cat only poops in litter box

when you find poopy in the floor, go put it in the litter box. also, when they do go in the box, point it out and praise them, give them a treat and lots of hugs and kisses. positive reinforcement works better than negative! animals need love, not shit rubbed in their face.

My parents left their cat here one week and she was litter box trained. And every morning before I left for school I made sure she had access to her litter box, food and water. One day I came home and found her shut out--my brother had come in to get food and ended up shutting her out of her stuff.

Now she stays here and ever since she's been peeing and occasionally pooping around the house. If at all possible, she will seek out my stuff. Waaaaaah!

What do I do?

I am sorry, but this is the funniest post I have seen on here in a while. Maybe I am just easily amused.

Maybe your cat had diarrhea, and you should be nicer to him.

uhmmm. she did it again last night. i was about to pick her up and she starts hissing and getting all agitated. after she left where she was sitting there was a turd.

looks like she's doing this out of nervousness or something . . . . this is INSANE.

the fact that she hisses when you pick her up is a sign that something is wrong...take her to the vet immediately...when you pick her up you are probably hurting her, hence the hissing

i had a cat that started peeing everywhere and when i would pick him up he would cry...i took him to the vet and he had some intestinal thing

first of all, cats dont respond to discipline, it just makes them scared of you. they arent dogs, so putting her nose in shit wont help. Diarhia and bad mood swings are a sign of a serious illness, take her to the vet.

jesus christ, im getting sick of these threads.

oh yeah, definitely.

its obvious that in addition to being a hypocritical neo-con misanthrope, you also get off on physically and mentally abusing helpless animals.

and seriously, give the cat away. she's going to hate you for the rest of your life together. with good reason.

CAT PISSED ON THE COUCH CUSHION AGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIN !!!. she purposely pissed on where the other cat (male cat) always sleeps at. the center couch cushion. anyway, putting the cushion cover in the wash did not help. the entire couch area is pissy.

getting her spaded and then getting rid of her. and buying a leather furniture set. going to price it today. I'M EXCITED . . . in the meantime, she's on the balcony and it's rainy out, but I no longer give a sh!t.

Well wouldn't you know it. The best thread on TWW resurfaces. I casually check the Lounge and I am confronted once again with Am's cat shitting problem. I then erupted in laughter.

I am looking forward to you keeping this cat and chronicling his shits for a very long time, Am.

This was part of the grand plan all along. The cat was simply trying to tell you something about your furniture.

But now you've just upped the stakes.

OMG seriously this thread might have to stop because it's getting to the point where I am clicking on TWW and the mere sight of this thread is making me have to stop what I am doing and recover from laughter...seriously...can we get the cat issues worked out? I am going to have to step back from the comp for a while....
