Just got finished playing for about an hour. It's pretty awesome. You can tell that it very heavily borrows from GTA, so much to the point that I'm sure many people will think it's lame because of it, but It seems to get everything that GTA did right even better and do some cool new stuff too. I'm very much so looking forward to getting the full version.

re: stealing from GTA the makers of SR have said something along the following. When Doom came out and was awesome everything that came after it was pretty much so the same but with different graphics and everyone said they were all just doom clones. It turns out that that was the start of a new genre of game, the FPS.

Well now GTA has came out and of course there will be clones and they want people to realize that they are just trying to add something to this new open city real world type genre. Yes GTA was the first one to pull it off successfully, and yes they are the best example so far, but there is room for improvement and I honestly feel like for the first time since GTA III there is a new king of the Hill for the genre.

At least until GTA IV comes out.

when i played it the first time yesterday, i thought it played slow...i came back to it last night and i dunno what it was but it seemed to play fine...maybe just some getting used to but i think they definitely improved on gta on a lot of things, cant wait to see what they did in the final version...

you can't compare this game to gta-sa, for a number of reasons - the number one reason being that this game was created for a platform that has 3x the capabilities that its predessor. i am sure that this is a good game (i didn't go get the demo yesterday, but i will today) but it is like comparing a psp to the ds because you think the ds is the new gameboy, when in fact it isn't.

driver and gta STILL have in-game "shit talking" if you will

like in GTA:SA, when you go into the mansion to steal the rhyme book, one of his boys is on the couch playing Driver talking about "Dammit Tanner" or something...Tanner being the main character in the Driver games

and in Driver 3, which came out between GTA:VC and GTA:SA, they had 5 different "Timmy Vercelli" characters who you were supposed to kill...looked just like the guy from GTA...and he was wearing the swimmer things that little kids wear on their arms in swimming pools because Driver allowed the player to swim before the GTA series

oh, i get it... i am dumb because i think this game is stupid? wow... i know it will have many fans, and this is true, but I, as in ME, do not like this game. it just doesn't do it for me, and that makes it a bad rip off to me. if you are gonna rip something, which most games do, do it right. this is garbage in my opinion. and honestly, if i had to review this game, i would give it a decent score, but i am suspecting that the average review score for this game will be a low 8/10, if that.

if you want to get technical, EVERY game is a rip off of some sort. either way, no matter what you say about my opinion, this game is whack as fuck. i did not waste more than 10 minutes playing the demo, same as with prey, and i came to the conclusion that these games are marginal at best to me. maybe for others, which i am certain of, this game will satisfy their needs.

its got a few diff modes, from what i recall.

team deathmatch style, harvester style (collect items off body then go back to base), protect style, and one where you have to upgrade your car while others try to do the same and/or blow up ur shit.
