Woke up the other morning, completely dead battery. Nothing left on or plugged in, just dead.

Then, it won't jump. I put it in neutral, because I read online that 99's sometimes have some sort of modual problem that won't let them start in drive after a while, nothing.

I take the battery to Sears, it was diehard, they tried to charge it but it was bad, got a new one.

Put the new battery in, it has a charge, but the car simply won't roll over.

I am trying to avoid taking it a shop before I try everything I can do myself, I have another car to drive around from my parents, but I have no idea where to go from here.

Any ideas welcome, thanks.

It's the alternator.

It's always the alternator.

just fixed it, thank god, but it wasn't the alternator.

It was the air intake sticking due to carbon build-up, I think.

Basically I had to throttle the engine myself to start the car, and then a combination of that and cleaning the intake I finally got the car to start. So yeah.
