Anyone know of a place that reattches the original hem of alterated jeans? Does Wang's do it? How much would it cost? 7/28/2006 8:52:03 PM |

^ Ive never taken my jeans to a tailor before. the place where I usually buy my jeans have redesigned them and now they are too long. Before I just had my mom do my jeans but she's never kept the original hem. Where do you go? how much is it ?

Any tailor will do it, just be clear on what you want them to do and what you want it to look like. I have used Wangs before for jeans though, and they were good. 7/30/2006 12:17:33 AM |

I don't know about jeans, but Lee's by Harris Teeter on Jones Franklin does a great job on my suits and there are always women in there getting alterations to regular clothes in there. They are consitantly voted the best tailor in Raleigh....but then again i'm sure who the voters are. 7/30/2006 1:56:16 AM |

The place I go to in Southpoint, I think it's also a Lee's, I don't really remember, is like $9.50 for me to get the hem shortened and she charges an extra $1.00 if you want it done in an hour, but she's usually done in like, 30 minutes. My favorite jeans (Rock & Republic) always run really long so I have taken probably about 7-9 pairs to get them shortened there. I don't know much about any places in Raleigh, since I live at home here in Durham.
Maybe ask/find someone in the Design/Textile schools? 7/30/2006 8:47:03 AM |

Yes, if you can get there, Lee's is the absolute best tailor I've ever used. I thought we were only talking about places near campus 7/30/2006 10:36:34 AM |
