My car's battery was (presumably) dead today, so I jumped it and drove it around for about 20 minutes. After I turned off the car, I tried to start it again and the car just died. Beforehand the interior lights would work but after I turned the key everything stopped. I jumped it again and drove it about an hour home and just turned it off. I went back outside to try to start it and again, the battery seemed fine until I turned the ignition, then it wouldn't start. Any clue what's happening? 7/30/2006 10:59:38 PM |

First bet is that the battery terminals are probably corroded and dirty as shit. Second is that the battery has indeed shit the bed. Third is maybe your alternator ain't living up to its name, but i kind of doubt that.
Now if you had said GM, I would have said you need to have your alternator checked.
Yes, it really matters if you tell us what the fuck you drive or not. Not all cars exhibit the same symptoms, even for something like a battery or an alternator. 7/30/2006 11:55:51 PM |

sounds to me like you need to take the terminals off the battery, clean them with battery terminal cleaner and a wire brush and reinstall them tightly, problem solved 7/31/2006 10:21:43 AM |

Actually, it started fine after I cleaned it, but later last night it did the same thing. So I guess I'm battery shopping today. 8/1/2006 10:27:03 AM |
