So my windows XP 64x is fucked up, and it has been suggested that I install a parallel version of windows. I dont have a 64x version CD, but i do have a regular XP Pro version CD.
The problem is when windows would normally boot, the whole thing continually reboots. I can get to the bios setup and thats about it.
I really am not sure what im doin. So if anyone that knows shat theyre doin could help that would rock. If someone really knows what theyre doin and wants to fix it for a small fee that's cool too.

Ask esgargs. According to him, it's virtually impossible to screw up Windows.

Check your device boot order in the BIOS. Make sure your CD drive comes before your HDDs.

^ I did notice that while browsing thru that bios menu, but I havent tried to really do much with installing/re-installing/parallel installing windows because i dont know the functional differences with x64 and normal xp versions.

I was really hoping that I could somehow just install the regular version and still access all my data.

You'll need a second drive or you'll need to resize your OS partition.

tried, doesnt do anything different than normal or safe mode. I think i need to change some file or regkey something for windows so i need to get a boot cd, which i cannot find. Again if anyone has a cd and knows what theyre doing, please tell me how much you would charge to fix my crap.

Did you happen to install any software or add any hardware before this happened? Shit sounds like you might have a bad stick of RAM and if that is the case reinstalling isn't going to do anything for you. Try pulling out a stick of RAM and booting it. If that doesn't work put the stick in and pull the other one out (if you have two). It could end up being a real easy solution to your problem.
