How many others ended up here or passed through here? Other than being the city with our rival school, it’s not too bad a place with its grad school/employment opportunities, being a short drive from Durham & Carrboro, and being a college town and all.

Here's where I am now and will be for atleast the next 6 years.

Although not the first public university to be chartered, it was the first to open to students, and the only public university to graduate students in the eighteenth century. UNC is one of the original universities listed as one of the Public Ivies.-wiki

My favorite parts so far are the improved bus system as compared to when I lived in Raleigh, and a 24 hour diner called Time-Out.

4AM Grilled Cheese Sandwiches from Time Out has to be the number one thing I miss about Chapel Hill.

I like Carboro. Lots of wine drinking snobbery and bicycle riding. Both of which I'm down with. Chapel Hill totally shit on themselves by making it illegal to ride a bike on the sidewalk and by moving the homeless shelter off Franklin Street though.

Some of the neighborhoods in Chapel Hill are beautiful though.

I thought it was only that they have to use the bike lanes where available since there seems to be a lot of them here.

I haven’t tried varsity theater yet. I’ve seen one called timberlyne, that looks alright from the outside, but I haven’t gone there yet. I plan to, but at this point I’ve just been using Southpoint because its close and familiar. Anyone got other theater, restaurant, or places to check out recommendations?

The last time I went to The Varsity, they threaded up the wrong movie and then argued with me for two or three minutes when I told them about it before actually looking.

I think of both establishments as well.

Varsity used to do some outdoor movies.

I liked Raleigh, and I know Chapel Hill isn't all that far away, but just like after highschool I didn't want to be someone who hung around the same city for all my life, I wanted to get out of Raleigh after college.

Bicycles shouldn't be on sidewalks. Sidewalks are for pedestrians.

I just got a job in the area, and on the way there I saw someone in the biking lane on a bike riding past someone on a sidewalk on bike.

There do seem to be bike lanes most everywhere I go regularly which is great for when I'm driving... but I'm phasing more into the bus system so it wont be a huge issue where the bikers are soon.

Jobs being available here will probably extend my stay living around here.

I'm thinking of moving to Carrboro. I mean its basically the same city has chapel hill, but the bus schedule doesn't line up right to get me to work on time so I have to drive to Carrboro Plaza Veterinary Clinic.

There are even some apartments in walking distance from work. I'm not sure if I should move when my lease ends or not.

I just walked for the first time a mile long walking path through some woods near foxcroft called something like Green Creek Trail which had plenty of fish, frogs, and lizards. Having that within walking distance makes me want to stay, but saving $ on gas makes me want to move.

I like Cosmic Cantina a lot but it makes me feel like vomiting afterwards. And if you think about it, it's not really cheap, at all...

^^There was also a radio tower thing by that trial, 1360 am, which was interesting to listen too...

^I've only gone there once, and it was closed at the time, but I'll have to give it another try sometime.

I've been to Timeout enough times during various times in the day to wonder, "How is this same greasy looking guy with long black hair always the one serving me?"
