I'm going friday to donate blood over at rex. If anyone wants to donate, and doesn't because of lack of personal transportation, I'm willing to take some folks with me.

i was a carrier of TB and i've had hepatitis-like symptoms caused by an allergic reaction to Zithromax which damaged my liver.

both of those make me ineligible to donate blood, which is good because i hate needles.

Instead of going to Rex or somewhere else off campus, I would like to personally invite you to the FIJI blood drive on campus this Friday.

The drive will be held from 11:30-4:30 at the Talley Student Center in the ballroom on the second floor. We are always looking for people to come donate and you can even sign up for an appointment to ensure your spot.

I hope my post was not seen as one to say one place is superior than others, I just want to give those who want to donate another option in case they are not able to drive, etc. the main thing is that people motivated to donate blood and save lives.

I have donated many times...but for myself. Before each surgery I was required to give 3 pints. first time around i didn't use them so they went back into circulation....so i guess that counts as donating for others

although second time around they had to do a couple of transfutions so i didn't end up donating to someone else after all.
