Has anyone ever taken this before? The accompanying lab is 5 hours...does it really take up that much time? granted there's only 1 hour of lecture per week. But still, 5 straight hours in a lab is brutal

I have heard that although the lab lasts for 5 hours, it isn't constant work. There's some downtime waiting for certain parts of the lab, waiting while youre running gels and PCR or whatever. I've also HEARD that while youre waiting you could leave for a lil while and come back.

I've taken it. I would say expect to be in lab 5 hours eventhough some of them don't take nearly that long. Therefore, you aren't as pissed when they actually last 5 hours. It isn't that bad, you get used to the length of them. There is a lot of downtime...waiting for incubations, centrifugations, etc. We would just chill out, do homework, go get food or whatever while we were waiting. You are allowed to leave the building. All in all it's a pretty easy A and Dr. Carson is a great professor.

thanks! Did you take it instead of the GN411 and BCH451 labs?
