Anyone own an old street rod on here that want's to go cruising some time?

Show pictures or just list what you have. I'd be interested in starting a group that goes on rides.

49' Packard Sedan, 455 Olds, lowered

hey man that thing is badass

I just bought a 64 f100 that i plan on slowly making into a traditional style shop truck cruzer

I knew a bunch of vendetta's around here as well (a traditional hot rod and custom CC) also there are a couple of others

There is a bar called "Kulture" in downtown, near the train station and i know the bartender has 2 old rods, as well as the owner has a few.

You might want to check out this thread at the hamb as well
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124548

they are trying to organize a cruise night in september

And if you decide to post there make sure you post an intro or they will harass you

on a further note, let me know if you want any pinstriping or lettering done
heres my half finished webpage
http://www4.ncsu.edu/~djdenhol/

and id be down for a kruise or just hanging out and working on old shit

i'm jealous. i'd love to own a nice merc one day - channeled, chopped roof, and sitting on bags. in flat, primer black with the chrome grill and bumpers. a classic hot rod. i'd also like to own a '55 chevy 150 street rod just like the ones in two lane blacktop and american graffiti (the very same cars were used in both movies). and of course, not hot rod collection would be complete without a '32 ford (only ford i'll probably ever own again). i like the five-window coupe. roadsters just don't do it for me. i got have that low roofline in combination with a nice rake to give it a mean look.

the '58-'60 corvette are one of my favorite cars. i think they're beautiful! if i'm ever lucky enough to own two of them, i'll probably rod one of them.

^^^ that's some beautiful work!

what year is this merc (the pic is too large to post)? that's the exact style i want, with the modified bumper. i used to see one like it rolling around the campus area a couple of years ago.

Yeah I wish this was a Mercury

It's a 1949 Packard. It is pretty freaking close to having the same body but without all the increase in costs to me due to the popularity.

I'm still debating on getting it painted black or leaving it marroon.

It would be cool to get some people together and cruise downtown on a Thursday or Friday night when school gets back in. Let me know.

Its not in the car... my t-bird is a dual quad car though which is pretty rare with the 312

the 427 is waiting for a shell.

Those are original wheels so i'd like to keep them on there. I may have to get some white walls for it tho.

The engine came out of an old Cutlass.

what heads are on that motor? there is a big number or letter on the front corner of the LH head (or the rear of the RH one)

New pic

And on a side note, does anyone know how/want to fix a leaking rear differential? It's not bad unless the car is parked on a downward slope. I try to keep it topped off but I don't want to mess with the seals myself.

Also is there anyone on here that does custom speaker work that could hook some sort of box or enclosure under the front seat/somewhere out of the way and install a head unit in the glove compartment, so I can get music going in the car. It is converted to a 12v system.
