This is the same crappy '93 Ford Taurus. I got a new battery last week and it had been working fine. Now I go to start it and it turns over, but it won't start at all. Would a bad fuel pump cause this problem? No clue what else it could be other than the fact that the car is a piece of shit. I don't want to put too much more money into it b/c it's my dad's car and I'm planning on buying another car as soon as I save some money up. 8/11/2006 6:39:34 PM |

So if it is the fuel pump is there any chance it will start when I go back later? At least long enough for me to get it home without a tow? 8/11/2006 7:08:13 PM |

The chances of it starting at all are damn near none.
If it does start, then your problem is intermittent (dur) and is probably due to either a heat soak issue or a water getting into somewhere issue (given recent weather).
Seriously, there are at least two or three other issues that will result in the problem you're having. Why are you stuck on the fuel pump? 8/11/2006 7:14:52 PM |

I'm stuck on the fuel pump because a mechanic told me it may mess up soon. But this was right after I paid 350 bucks to fix my brakes that are still fucked up, so I'm unsure as to how reliable his information is. Still, a fuel pump is all I have to go on. 8/11/2006 7:22:23 PM |
