i am trying to waitlist sts323(food and population or somehting like that) the class is full according to packtracks, but there are 10 waitlist spots open. If i just try to add the class I am told that it is full but waitlist is opened. When i try to waitlist it says that waitlist is either closed or i dont meet the restrcitions. I could find no restrictions for this class whatsoever. I tried calling my advisor and a couple others but I guess no one is on campus right now as all i got were voicemails. Can someone tell me what is going on and what I need to do to register for this class?

I droped rock climbing which i really wanted to take so I could take this class and now i cant get into either as rock climbing is full now so i really want/need to get into this class.

By the way i am a CEM if that matters and this is my STS elective i was planing on taking

does that not mean that there are no restriceted seats available, but there are un restricted seats?

thats the way i read it any ways, and I have 5 friends in there already none of them are sts or stb

Agreed. If you are already on/near campus, find out their office hours and talk to them before the semester begins. Email/phone calls are nice, but if you take the time to see them in person, they'll remember you the first day of class.

Generally speaking, most classes have drops within the first two weeks. From the courses I've taken, I've seen only one where there wasn't an opening in the first two weeks, and that was largely because of the instructor teaching the course (i.e. nobody wanted to drop). For now, sign up for another class where you have a guaranteed shot of getting in, works with your schedule and is NOT at the same time at the class you want to get into. Check PackTRACKS CONSTANTLY for drops in the course you want. If there is a drop, ADD the class first and then DROP the fallback class. Do NOT do it the other way around. It's possible somebody else can snipe the class you want in the 60 seconds it takes you to go through the process of dropping the first class. You drop before you add, you put yourself into a bigger hole.

i am glad you assumed i called someone when i made the post. No i called at 11, 12 and 2 yesterday when i was at work. I didnt have internet untill i got off. Thanks for the suggestion though too

Have you tried searching Study Hall for "Easy A"? Tons of threads out there. Might be a couple other options that would work well for you.

i didnt mean to insult you, thats why I still thanked you for the help, I had thought about that, the main reason I want to take this class though is because I already have a bunch of friends signed up for it. Again thanks for your input I appreciate it
