i've seen people do this but what is the rule on it. is it just on you or do they kick you out? 8/13/2006 1:36:57 AM |

In my experience, it seems to vary from instructor-to-instructor or department-to-department. However, you certainly can be dropped from the section.
Your best bet is to ask the instructor beforehand, to avoid the risk of being forced to rearrange your schedule early in the semester. 8/13/2006 1:53:29 AM |

^ Agreed, ultimately lies with the instructor. In larger classes, you probably won't have as much luck as you will with smaller classes. Most instructors are forgiving if they talk to you beforehand and explain risks/learn what do you and don't already know. As an example, I remember CSC401 had a prereq of ST370. My second major was Statistics, and I never took 370 ... but I think I had sufficient knowledge to meet the prereq's requirements. 8/13/2006 10:02:01 AM |
