I'm looking for suggestions of companies that hire java programmers in North Carolina. Of course, I know about SAS, IBM, and some of the larger corporations in the RTP. What are some other places that I might not have thought about applying to? I'm an alumni so I don't have access to e-pack anymore.

Take your pick. Word of advice ... apply directly through the company website and write a cover letter SPECIFIC to that company. Let them know you took the 5-10 minutes to read something you thought was interesting about them.

Thanks for some of the suggestions. It's been a while since I've been in the job market and dice.com seems a little better than monster and careerbuilder. I wish the contracting companies would keep their shit out of the full time listings.

I'm starting to realize that I may need a cover letter to get some of these large corporations to take notice, as I'm fully qualified for the jobs.

Are there any specific companies that have been hiring alot of ncsu students lately?

Do us a favor, go talk to the Career Center and your CSC advisor. Seriously, take advantage of the resources NC State has to offer. I was on a first name basis with some of the recruiters for the companies by the time I graduated ... and I definitely didn't have a stellar GPA.

FYI, pretty much every company hires on a contract basis for 3-6 months before committing to full employment, the recruiters are definitely worth taking some time with.
