i have enough parts that to build a computer w/ the following specs

AMD Athlon XP 1600
GeForce 3 NVIDIA Graphics card 64 MB RAM
384 MB DDR Ram
Fast Ethernet Card
16X CD burner
20 GB Hard Drive

how much could i get for this?

150-200 probably, that would be the highend of things, with shit installed on it and such.... and a moniter...

seeing as you can get a brand new better performing computer for ~500

i honestly don't see anyone paying more than $100 for it, the specs on a machine like that are 5 years old

and a TiVO? you'd need one helluva good hardware encoding card on an old xp1600 with that little ram, no dvd capabilities whatsoever and a small 20gb hard drive, it's obvious you would need a bit more than just a tv tuner to make anything out of this rig.

It would work just fine, might want to put a dvd player in, but specs wise it would be more than good enough for a DVR box.

hardly... i've built a media pc on bare minimum specs before, it works but it sucks. so much so, i'd never suggest it.

but hey if you want to... go for it.

having been around for the media pc that prospero is talking about, it did suck. avoid, find some other use or try to sell to someone that needs a cheap box for linux or the sort.
