How much would it take to get you to leave your current job, all else being equal.
I.e. if another company offered you a similar position in a similar location, what would it take for you to hop jobs. I'm looking for % increase in salary here, and anything else that'd get you to hop. 8/23/2006 4:08:35 PM |

if all else was equal but salary i think it'd take 20% increase
if it were to be a job that didn't travel probably a 30-35% increase
if i lost anything else the % would keep going up 8/23/2006 4:23:18 PM |

i'd go just about anywhere else for any kind of salary increase while keeping my current benefits and if i also knew i would have the same job security that i have now. 8/23/2006 4:40:24 PM |

it would have to be alot, maybe 15%, to change jobs all else being equal. I would take a paycut to move to a better city... 8/23/2006 6:41:47 PM |

I'd leave my current job for a lateral move to where I wanted to be. 8/23/2006 8:09:56 PM |

I actually took a significant cut to come back and do my doctorate and TA
so in other words, didn't take much 8/24/2006 12:59:50 AM |

If my base salary equaled my current total compensation, i'd probably leave. It'd be nice to have more than 4 days off per month. 8/24/2006 9:28:49 AM |

with my current level of "pissed off" at my company, i would probably just leave for equal pay and benefits elsewhere. of course, i would push for 20%. 8/24/2006 12:06:01 PM |

by all else being equal i'm assuming comparable job responsibilities with similar cost of living: i'd leave for about 60% more 8/24/2006 1:33:33 PM |

Location location location.
I love my job (systems engineering for satellites), but I would take a pay cut and a less interesting and rewarding job if it was back in NC. So all it would really take is my husband saying we can go back home! 8/26/2006 3:48:18 AM |

This is the first place I have worked that I actually like the other people working here, so it would probably have to be in the neighborhood of 35-40% increase for me to leave. A shorter commute would help as well (45 miles round trip) 10/12/2006 1:25:52 PM |

I'm feeling a little ambivalent about my job right now and I haven't been here long enough (10 mo) to feel strong loyalty, so I would probably settle for 0% salary increase, provided the new job would be a better fit for me. 10/28/2006 9:24:32 PM |
