GORGEOUS

Quote :
"Following a leak early this morning, Volkswagen has released the first official images of the Iroc Coupe Concept, which will be exhibited at the Paris Motor Show in September. The car previews the 2008/2009 Volkswagen Scirocco coupe, which is rumored to go on sale in twelve to 18 months. The car will feature a TSI engine, DSG gearbox, front-wheel-drive, and hidden B-pillars. Rumors have placed pricing around $25,000. "

Damn, VW truly makes gorgeous cars (sans Phaeton). The newly released VW Eos is gorgeous, and so is this concept, which will soon be a production car.

uhm... a short minivan? are you serious? it's a hatchback, like the roccos past.

i like it.. maybe not the color... twin charged.. i bet it'll be fun to drive if it ever makes it to production.

VW already confirmed it would build it a few months back.

it still looks like my dad's 93 Mercury Tracer hatchback. I just can't get into these "butt cars" as my little brother called them when he was 5...

Except the earlier concept has approx. 2 inches of rear headroom.

I like how the front looks, but it's too much like your typical hatchbacks. I agree the concept looks better (but even that is similar to the new Nissans).

Dude, those are NOT official VW concepts!

Those are artists' renderings of what they thought this would look like some 6 months ago.

VW never released any sketches of this car before; they directly releases the pics of the real thing just a couple of days ago.

**********************************
Here are some more artist's renderings, which look remarkably similar to the actual thing, which makes one think that they artist had insider info! BTW, the back lights of this rendering are what should have been on the actual thing; they fit in with the VW's white circles in red theme on their other models, and look more unique.

Seems that the name and the instrument/steering were both ripped off from Camaro.

But in all seriousness has anybody else noticed this thing does seem kinda like the steering wheel/instrument cluster in the Camaro, and to a lesser extent, a bit like the Mustang? The rest of it is FAR from those cars, but they seem to be going to that design in a lot of cars now.

You HAVE to see the gorgeous green stitching here:

http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/06/iroc06_inter31600.jpg

The first gen (1970) Scirocco was designed by Giorgetto Guigiaro. BTW, the concept has a 2 litre twin-charged I4 producing 210 hp. Base models will probably start with the 150 hp engine, and the top model will probably come with the 3.2 litre 250 hp engine.

1600 x 1200 pics here for those who want wallpapers:

And check out this gorgeous EOS study:

hey guys, seems like some of you are commenting on the IROC, and some on the Passat R36, but without mentioning the name!

anyway, the the seats of the R36 are some of the best i have ever seen; VW (along with Audi) is known for gorgeous interiors anyway (as compared to the plain or even ugly interiors of new MBs and BMWs).

^ it comes with a DSG transmission.
