From the look of it, they are using DirectX 10. Plants are fully interactive and trees fall and break apart.
Just watch the trailer.

I must say. This is way beyond HL2 in terms of visuals. I doubt the physics will be as good though.

well we havent discussed this before....

i dunno, it'll take more than destructive environments to get me interested. ill let these games flesh that shit out and then wait for a fun game that utilizes the engine.
