and it was a good party. Around 25-30 people, a pony keg and some other stuff. It was the kind of party where most people knew each other, all fairly good friends of my roommate or myself. Well this one guy, had two girls he knew come by. Well they were high school girls, seniors, both 17. I believe the guy was a sophmore here at State and knew them from high school. So when the night comes to an end and many people have passed out or left, one of the high school girls and another guy are on one of the couches together. Well this guy is 21 or 22 I believe, I know he was a senior here at State. I'm the last one that's fully awake. Well I'm in another room and start hearing some "noises" and I begin feeling uneasy (I was already feeling a little uneasy when I saw them on the couch and his hand near her lower region) and I say fuck it. I storm into the room switch on the lights and say, "Dude I'm sorry but you've got to get the fuck out. This girls only 17 and still in high school. If something was to go down, that's on me b/c this is my place." Now I'm not one to "cock block" usually, and I know someone would probably say that I did, but I just don't think it's cool to mess with drunk girls that aren't even 18 yet. Well I woke up this morning questioning whether I had done the right thing or should have just not worried about it. So my question to you all is this, would you have done the same thing? Besides my itching conscience, I started thinking about the legal possibilities as well. I don't want to end up involved in some kind of statutory rape case investigation.

16 is the age of legal consent in NC, so you were worried over nothing.

yeah but i thought there was a law also about taking advantage of girls that are drunk and not of the legal age.

like one for girls under 18 and also for those that are over 18 but under 21.

having sex with an intoxicated female is rape regardless of age, but you were focused on the age thing.

yeah if the guy was not even a buddy of yours, you had no obligation to help him get ass at your own place. I wouldn't have even thought about kicking some dude out of my apt who was trying to hook up. That is what his place is for.

she legally couldn't give consent due to the alcohol, and this is your place, so you have the right to get the fuck out

well i doubt i would have told him to get out if she wasn't still in high school and less than 18 years old. still i don't think it's cool for some guy that's considerably older to mess with a high school girl. the only somewhat acceptable case is if they knew each other real well from high school and were just one or two grades apart.

Fuck the legal age of consent, a guy his age has no business fucking a girl her age, ESPECIALLY considering the fact that she was drunk.

^^^haha, yeah right, i'm not trying to fuck with high school girls. i mean i played a couple of games of beer pong with her (which we were undefeated at ), but i wasn't gonna fuck with her. perhaps i felt the need to protect her due to our beer pong relationship.

4 or 5 years difference is nothing. [anecdotal] I'm 4 years older than my wife, and my dad is 8 years older than my mom. [/anecdotal] shit like that is very common.

I mean christ, what 16 or 17 year old is not sexually active in 2006?

well the party was thrown just to have fun. besides those two high school girls, i knew every other girl there fairly well and most had boyfriends, so i really wasn't thinking about fucking anything that night. i think there were 6 girls there, including the 2 high school girls. typical nc state sausage party. i'm not the kind of guy that goes to parties looking for ass. i go for the fun of it, and getting drunk. if i get some then that's just an extra incentive.

BobbyDigital I find no problem in adults of considerable age difference having relationships, but wouldn't you admit that high school girls are a tricky subject?

i didn't know they were high school girls until like 20 minutes after they arrived.

I just wouldn't want people having sex on my couch. The fact that the girl was drunk and in high school only makes it worse.

Hey man you never know, if something would have went down you could have been getting a knock on your door from a crazy dad or something. Regardless of whether you were a part of it or not, i would def not have let some chick get drunk raped at my house.......ESP IF SHE WAS UNDERAGE.

you guys talk shit about him being jealous and what not, i do recall last year somebody getting fucked in the ass b/c some chick was drunk and had sex with a guy then regretted it later. there was a thread about that here somewhere.

that didn't seem to bother you when you were breaking the law by letting her drink illegally at your party. it only seemed to bother you when she found someone (besides you) to satisfy her carnal desires.

High School girls' (under 18) parents are a pretty tricky subject. If they call the cops and shes at your house you are "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" even if you can legally have sex with her.

thanks to all of you that posted stuff that was in agreement with me. it's making me feel a lot better about what i did. i've also talked with some friends and they told me as well that i did the right thing. one guy told me that him and his friends were calling it immediately after they left.

^^well most everyone has drank illegally in there lifetime.

As several people have mentioned, she was past the age of consent in NC but you had the right to kick him out. He can take her back to his place instead of staining your couch.

On the other hand, she wasn't old enough to legally drink in NC. If you knew she was 17 and you served alcohol to a minor, that's on you because it's your place.

One of my closest friends is two years younger than me. When she was a junior/senior in high school, and I was a freshman/sophomore in college, she always came out with me. Nobody ever considered her age, and she always seemed to fit in. I think there may have been a few times when she felt uncomfortable, but I was always drunk so I never noticed. Maybe there were some people, talking shit, like, "OMG, I can't believe she brought that high school girl." But whatever, she was fine. Partied with me all the time, had a few boyfriends, and managed to keep her pants on until she went to college.

way to ruin someone else's night

of course it ALL could have fallen on you since you provided the alcohol which got her drunk and almost led to her having sex....so good call

I would have kicked them out anyway, no matter how old.

or made them do it on the floor.

nobody is having sex on MY couch.

usually that applies to me as well.

I've taken a moment to think about this, and I guess I agree with BobbyDigital that I would have asked them to leave right when I found out they were 17. I would have to know them personally and known that they were cool to allow them to stay--I'm 22 so I can't imagine thinking any high schooler was cool enough to stay.

But anyway, if it got the point that you were at, I probably would have ignored it. If I really cared, like apparently you do, I woulda gone back into the living room, watched TV, and asked the high school girl if she was excited about her senior prom.

if neither one was my friend i would of kicked em out anyways. i dont feel comfortable with strangers staying over and definitely wouldn't be cool with them hooking up on my couch. he could have taken her to his place or hooked up in the car and gotten her home before curfew.

the girl is probably thanking you this morning.

I think the bigger issue , where you would be responsible, would have been that you distributed alcohol to a 17 year old (as far as legality goes). You did the right thing.

You were right to kick those people out. Frankly, we just don't let anybody fuck in our house when the girl ain't sober or already involved with the guy. We don't want to go to jail. We don't even want to have to go to court to talk about someone else going to jail. The more distance between my parties and any representative of the Raleigh legal system, the happier I am. I'd rather be a cock-block here than a cock-recipient in jail.

That said, letting 17 year olds get drunk at your house was pretty fucking stupid. Eighteen and up I can see, but nothing below. I don't know if the punishment isn't harsher officially, but I'll bet the justice system is less likely to cut you any kind of break.
