In IE, clicking on clear history clears all URLs, but doesn't clear textual non-URL history. For example, when I click "b" in the URL field, after having cleared the history and restarted the browser, the following come up in the drop down menu:

BBC NEWS Middle East
Biletix - Eglenceye Girish Biletiniz...
Bugatti Veyron dominates 0-100-0 mph contest

etc

Although they are not URLs per se, they point to URLs and leaving the mouse on any of them takes the browser to the respective page.

How to delete those? Any letter I press, and my drop down menu comes up with several links like that.

you can clear auto-complete history... internet options -> content -> personal info -> auto complete button

i think thats what youre lookin for

shift + delete also clears the URL in the history bar (if you want to only clear certain ones)
