I got a call from FinAid today saying they gave me too much money because apparently the $1000+ in child care I planned to spend every month isn't recognized expenditure because the facility I chose is a "private daycare." For starters, I don't think there are public daycares ... anyway the lady says they took away my subsidized stafford for the spring and replaced it with unsubsidized. Now, even without child care, I qualify for full aid. My question is are they allowed to do that? Are they planning to come after me for back-funds? Can't go to student legal because they can't represent any students against the university

i've gotten an extra loan the other year, but i had to get a statement from the child care place stating how much i'd owe for the semester...

all i did was get a hand written letter from the lady who owns it.

1) Talk with Financial Aid about the situation. Specifically, the person who called you. They will best be able to answer your questions.

3) If you aren't taking out anything in unsubsidized loans (i.e. everything is subsidized), you should be fine.
