went to Marrz in Wilmington last night to catch Katharsis, an awesome band from Greenville. Been following this band for a couple of years now and have been impressed so far. After Katharsis' set (which had some killer new stuff I may add- I can't wait for this fucking cd) a band from St Louis took the stage, Greenwheel. Anyone heard of them or are a fan? I thought they were pretty good but the lead singer's vocals sound an awful lot like Raine Maida of OLP (i believe this band has actually opened for OLP and may have been onstage for a duet with Raine also). The song "Trigger" really makes you notice this.... http://www.myspace.com/greenwheel
shameless plug for Katharsis- These guys are fucking awesome, not to mention they MAY know how to play an instrument or two. http://www.myspace.com/katharsismusic http://www.katharsisrock.com

Actually I saw them open for OLP at a music festival type thing at the Boathouse in VA Beach in... 2000 or 2001.
They were pretty good, reminded me of Incubus a little bit. Best part was when the guy was leaning on the mic stand trying to be cool and distributed his weight wrong and fell on his face. 9/2/2006 12:03:49 PM |

I like Greenwheel a lot, I have seen their shows 3 or 4 times and I really like their music.
If you get a chance listen to the songs Dim Halo, Radiance, and Strong.
I haven't listened to their new album though, from the 2 singles they have on myspace it doesn't sound as good as Soma Holiday.
