They should be in the gym, 24/7.

the initial reports were that he weighed 180 or something.

hence the question to someone who saw him in person.

He weighs like 220-230. He lives right next to me. Fells said all he needs to do is put his hands up and he will block 4-8 shots a game without jumping.

My husband is a Bridgton Alum, so I saw this kid play last year.

Don't get your hopes up, he's just tall

How could you be that tall and so bad that everytime anyone mentions your name, all that is said is "don't get your hopes up."

I haven't heard anyone even pretend he's gonna be good.

It just goes to show that you'll get picked up (even by a Div. 1 team) if you are over 7 foot.

That is really irratating to guys who are better than the 7footers but only stand 6'8"
*grumble*

Honestly, my husband could school this kid in the post. He isn't big (read: heavy) enough to push anyone out from under the basket not to mention that he doesn't have great timing. Without great timing he isn't even a good shot blocker. Maybe someone can take him under their wing and make him a better player, I sure hope so anyway. I'd hate to think that our recruiting staff picks up guys based solely on their height (and not even their weight).

he can be a good shot blocker just by raising his arms up.

Rest assured that they know how to do their job better than you think you do. I'm sure he'd be willing to take your all-star hubby up on that challenge any day.

Towe recruited him to play at NO, then brought him here because we are desperately in need of height.

This kid has five years to put on weight and learn some skills. Just because he won't be an immediate contributor doesn't mean he never will be.

A) you don't become a shot blocker by putting up your arms. MORONS ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD KILL ME

B) We do need height, but we need physical height, which by looking at this kid in person will take nothing less than a massive amount of steriods. Height does you no good if everytime you defend someone you end up beneth the basket. Hell Julius Hodge could post up this kid--

I wish him the best, OBVIOUSLY, since he's a Wolfpacker; HOWEVER my "amateur" eyes can't see him ever being a MAJOR contributer. In 5 years, I'll attempt to pull this thread, simply to prove my point
