^^ i have serious reservations that they have actually made the last inu yasha episode. I always see it getting picked back up in a few years for new episodes since it seems the manga will never die, especially if her other works is any indication (uresei yatsura and ranma 1/2)

If you want to watch one anime, watch Cowboy Bebop.

There are other good shows, but everything else has the weird "This is Japanese" vibe to varying extents. And it has a good dub.

I dislike what adult swim has done with anime, they just show the burnt pop flicks.

Animenetwork on the brightside, has veryyy good dub choices, I even rewatch old shows that were subbed to see them dubbed on A.N sometimes. They script nascent jokes out perfectly to replace some of the miscultured japanese ones. Animenetwork really has done a good job with them.

Watch Ghost on cutting edge, Cutting edge has samples of anime network shows.

I still need to finish watching Gunslinger Girl. I got through the first disc but was playing WoW at the time so it didn't get my full attention. For me, Noir ended an episode early. Without giving any spoilers I am sure those who have seen it can figure out what I mean.

my favorite anime is Rurouni Kenshin, but I have no idea if it's at all like what you're asking about. Probably not, since it's about samurai and you're asking about the Animatrix.
