do i need any special tools to change front brakes (pads/rotors) and pass. side axle on a 97 accord v6?

from what i've found on the intarweb, i need a special hub puller to remove the rotor. and the axle slides right out when i pull the knuckle off..

a slide hammer that bolts on the hub makes it a lot easier

To the best of my knowledge, you don't need anything special to pull the axle shaft. The only reason you'd need the slide hammer would be to get the rotor off to replace it. And personally, I wouldn't replace rotors on that car unless they are warped.

the rotors may have 2 phillips screws that are tight as hell on there... if you get them off it should come off, if not then if you see a threaded hole, find a bolt that fits and slowly screw it in there prying the rotor off...

^^the rears need the special tool, front pads should be 2 bolts and clamp type tool

Actually, I think that's '90 to '93. The '94-'97 has slip-ons...

Crock of doo doo. I use Carquest Global Solution. BTW, the friendly bastards at Carquest can tell you if it came OEM with ceramic or semi-metallic or organic.

i used ceramic on my accord and they are great. make sure you get the right shims.

rotor is behind the hub. changing that shit is a pain in the ass.

leave the screws off, they don't do anything useful. i had the tire people remove mine with an impact screwdriver, the last time i got new tires (free).
